Q) How long does it take for a individual to receive their first unemployment check when the individual has turned everything in?
A) For most states the first valid week is a Waiting Period week and no check is payable for that week. It will usually take approximately 2-3 weeks from the date you first file a new claim to receive your first unemployment check. Please refer to your state unemployment website for information on the waiting period and qualifying unemployment application requirements for your state.
