North Dakota Unemployment Benefit Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for unemployment benefits in North Dakota, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be unemployed through no fault of your own.
  • You must be able to work, available for work, and actively seeking work each week you are collecting benefits.
  • You must have earned at least $2,100.00 in wages during the base period. The base period is the first four of the last five completed calendar quarters before the quarter in which you file your claim.
  • You must have earned at least $525.00 in wages in at least two quarters of the base period.

If you meet all of the above requirements, you may be eligible for unemployment benefits. The amount of benefits you receive is equal to one-half of your average weekly wage during the base period, up to a maximum of $613.00 per week. You can receive benefits for up to 26 weeks in one benefit year.
